Delayed shifting is because the Transmission Fluid is not warm enough to move through the internals of the transmission. You may need a transmission service,,,,,fluid change, new filter, etc. Transmission Fluid degrades with age.
Most likely the shifting fork insde the trans is worn. Normal for a older car. Just drive it.
I had the exact same problem and it ended up being the coolant temp that affected the trans operation. Do a coolant flush and refill of fresh fluid. The trans cooler lines run through the radiator. If the coolant runs too hot, so does the trans oil which causes shifting issues. I did the flush myself with an off the shelf product like bardahl or whatever and it hasn't shifted hard again for well over a year.
If the trans has quit shifting, it is because the computer has detected a problem and set a code. Have the system checked for trouble codes.
The work was delayed by the inclement weather. (cold/ wet/ wild/ weather)
A cold spring is one where mean temperatures are below average. A cold spring may have a late frost date. Often planting in a cold spring may be delayed.

The herpes virus causes cold sores.
When the cold transmission slips when shifting in the second gear, it means that either the fluid level is not correct or the filters are faulty. When this happens, your gearbox may need extensive repair or may need replacement.
