It most commonly lights up when the gasoline filler cap has been left loose (or replaced with the wrong cap) - or the PCV valve needs replacing. After checking or replacing those two items - steady driving of about 1/2 hour or more should re-set the light. If not, you need to see a mechanic for other possible problems.
