So many things. Sometimes it is because there is a chromosomal abnormaity in the baby.there may be too many chromosomes, or too few. if the abnormailty id not sever the baby may be born with Down syndome, Turner syndrome, or a number of other syndromes. An infection in the mother may cause fetal death, particulalry if accompanied by a high temperature. Undiagnosed/untreated Diabetes may also be a cause.
