If you mean a space orbit--an object that moves fast enough can orbit another body in space. As a minimum, to orbit the Earth you need to travel 30,000 kph at 100 km altitude.

If you mean an atomic orbit, the combination of electron charge, nucleus charge, and quantum mechanics determines its orbits. An orbit is formed by orbiting when it is traveling in a circular or nearly circular path around another object.

An orbit is the path of any object that is constantly "falling into" a second object - and constantly missing. It misses because it has a "sideways" velocity which would take it away into space if it wasn't for the gravity that's trying to make it fall into the object that it is orbiting.

The orbits of the planets were formed out of a spinning mass of gas and dust,

any part of which that did NOT fit the above description - is just not there.

To orbit the Earth you must throw an object horizontally at close to .707 times the escape velocity (the trick is to be above the atmosphere when you do it - otherwise the air resistance will slow it down and it will just drop).

The big bang originally created earth's orbit but the sun keeps the earth in the solar system. The reason the earth hasent stoped orbiting is because there is no friction in space to stop earth.
