well different things cause people to be emo like they dont like the way they look or something bad has happened to them there are different reasons or it can just be there emo because they can.
Many issues they've experienced that they refuse to talk about - family issues, rejected from social circles, feel like they don't belong in society, no friends, abused, poor family, forced to work, no childhood, lost an important person/people in their life, heartbroken, or suffering some sort of diseas, etc.

Emo started with a type of music(punk/rock), but it has now become a style and culture. An emo person is someone who is very emotional. Often times they cut themselves(especially on the wrists) trying to commit suicide. They tend to become anorexic, especially emo girls. Emo people tend to dress with a lot of dark colors and a few random colors. You will often see an emo person with a lot of piercings. Non-emo people often times openly dislike emos and exclude them from large groups. Emos are usually not open with their feelings. People should remember that emos are people too.
Why do people turn into emo?
People don't turn 'emo'. Emo is a stereotype. If you mean someone who causes harm to themselves, rather by cutting or another method, it may be their way of dealing with stress or pain. People may turn 'emo' because of family problems, school, peers, or other issues. If you mean the people who wear a lot of black, eyeliner, and plaid/etc. Then that is just a style of fashion. Emo is basically the mix of Scene {teased hair, too much make-up, funky clothes] and Goth [wear all black], it's just because they want to.
