Well it could be either your throw out bearing(also known as a release bearing) is going bad.Or the transmission parts internally are wearing. It could be your clutch too but,the throw out is more logical to make this racket. Now question does this noise happen when you depress the clutch(push in) and not moving.Next do you hear any noise while soley in neutral with clutch out.If you hear any noise in neutral and you push clutch in and it goes away this points to the release bearing being the problem most times.I could elaborate more and say it could be the pilot bearing that is behind the clutch mounted in the back of the block(but these normally) do not make noise based a general issue.Unless the transmission is wearing and needing a rebuild,do the checks to see if noise stops as suggested. If your release bearing is bad,you should replace the clutch at the time,of replacing this part bc most shops will charge for doing a clutch job,not just the bearing. And yes the trans has to be removed to do this.
Gearbox oil needs changing.
Bike gears make a clicking sound while shifting because the teeth of the gears are engaging and disengaging as they move to different positions, creating a clicking noise.
Probably your u joints or the rear end has too much slop.
That is the neutral safety switch making the click sound.
well it could be the transmission bracket or ur motor mounts but im not real sure
Because it is. The transmission of an automatic does for you what you have to do if driving a stick. it does that whole clutch in shift for you, supposedly making it more efficient in usage of gas.
could be a worn pinion gear or bad U joint or both
still sounds like your transmission is out, you can shift the gears all you want but if the transmission is gone, your just shifting gears. also check the starter, the rattling sound it what happens when its not engaging correctly.
The syncros are going bad. they help the gears line up when you shift
you need to replace the who gear it is cracked or chipped
Clicking sound in grand Cherokee can be due to a faultyÊ actuator, or a cracked door. Actuator may causeÊ a clickingÊ sound when one of its plastic gears is broken.
It could be that the transmission fluid is low, or it could be that mechanical parts have worn down. If so, it may be time for a replacement.
