Check all the wires that u touched, and if all is good, might have a problem in the new starter. That's a tight place to work.
I have the same problem and I have change the starter for nothing..
The fuse blows sometime and don't blow other time...
I will dismantle the wiring harness to be sure of the fact that I think that the wiring harness to the starter from the battery and the power distribution box, to be corroded or something else...
