Should the Mirena string feel like plastic?
I have a mirena, and my string feels similar to a small wire, like the ones found in bread ties. I was told that they soften up over time, and so I'm sure it feels more like plastic later on.
You are having a leep procedure with the Mirena IUD is there anyone that can tell you of their experiences with the IUD?
Just had the LEEP surgery... They had to take out the Mirena because of the string...Now I have to pay over 800 just to get a new IUD put in.
If you're pregnant with the Mirena and the doctor couldn't see string at yearly exam but could with xray will it have to be left in and what are the chances of miscarriage with it in or removed?
Difficult one. I hope you didn't have an x-ray if you are pregnant. If the doctor can't see the string there is no way you are going to get he mirena out anyway. My cousin went through a pregnancy with a coil in and had no problems.

How can you tell if an IUD slipped?
Can you still feel the string or is there too much string in the vagina ? If it moves out of place the string will normally disappear or there will be too much hanging out of the uterus. See a Dr.
Can everybody feel the cords from their Mirena when they check?
You are supposed to be able to feel two strings when checking for them. If you do not feel them the IUD might have came out or the string have receded into your uterus
