There's a fault someplace in the braking system. That could range from a faulty emergency brake switch to low brake fluid level (check the reservoir on the master cylinder) to a bad master cylinder or a leaking brake caliper or other part. One thing for certain it is not a warning light to ignore. BTW brake fluid should be replaced every two years. While it doesn't exactly wear out it does absorb moisture very easily. That water finds its way to delicate parts and can cause rust, pitting and other issues. If it gets hot enough it boils, creates an air bubble in the brake line and then you have serious issues with stopping. If the fluid has never been replaced in your '01 you should get it to a shop pronto (especially with the dash light on). Cheers
I believe the Solara is the same as the Camry. You have to remove part of the center console to access the adjustment.
A dashboard light appearing when brake pedal is depressed usually means brake fluid is low.
Looking under the hood you should find the brake fluid to be in the top right corner.
The 1994 Toyota Camry emergency brake light switch can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The emergency brake light switch will be beneath the far left hand side of the dashboard.
The button on your dashboard
The brake light switch is typically under the dashboard near the top of the brake pedal arm.
If the light is on your dashboard it would be the Anti-lock Brake System
If you mean the brake light in your dashboard, it means that you have your emergency break on while the car is on.
The answer will depend on the part needing replacement. Is the cable broken? Do you need part of the handle or brake mechanism or are the brake shoes worn out? Determine the problem then either visit your local Toyota dealer or check online for the replacement part cost. Cheers
If by 'controller' you mean the switch that makes the brake lights come on, it is not in the trunk. It is located underneath the dashboard, next to the brake pedal.
Defective or mis-adjusted brake light switch
A malfunctioning brake light relay switch will cause your 1993 Toyota Corolla brake lights to stay on all the time. The brake light relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard.
