All fuses are installed in electrical circuits to protect the wiring from overheating damage and/or heating to the point of causing a fire.
ANY TIME a fuse "BLOWS" it is reacting to a short circuit [most common cause], or a current overload [less probable in automotive applications].
Therefore the most probable answer to your question is a SHORT CIRCUIT somewhere in that circuit. I cannot tell you WHERE it is, so it will be necessary to carefuflly examine every bit of the wireing, circuit boards, lamp sockets in the instrument panel lamp circuit.
The short will involve the "hot" wire in the circuit, or the hot conductor strip on the circuit board, or a flaw or metal fragment inside a lamp socket. The electrical ground fault will cause the hot conductor to be in contact with a GROUNDED component.
If you are not experienced in troubleshooting electrical/electronic faults, it may be infinately easier to take your vehicle to a professional mechanic or electronic technician.j3h.
Dead short to ground in either: Parking lights or sockets Tail lights or sockets Dash lights or sockets
Pliers, screwdriver and mechanic
There can be several things that can cause your instrument panel light fuse to blow. The most common reason is crossed wires that have corroded together.
a massive overload of that particular circuit... cheers Aussie charlie..........
You're reed on you're mouthpiece causes the sound that you hear from all woodwind instruments. =)
Those bulbs blow too... Your dealer should have em. Its only about 5 screws to take out the instrument panel and the bulbs screw out.
If the instrument gauge fuse blows on your 1997 Suburban, you might have an issue with the wiring. An exposed or grounded wire can cause the fuse to blow each time the panel is engaged.
If you blow into the instrument or if it has a reed, it's a woodwind instrument
Yes, any instrument that you blow through is a wind instrument.
short in dash light circuit, but also check tailights. Sometimes no dash lights, AND NO TAILGHTS.
a stuck rely. and some time spring in the button on steering wheel gets stuck too
Install a test lighb in place of the fuse--it there is current flow (to ground) light will illuminate Disconnect each light and/or socket until test light goes out--that will determine where "short" is then you can determine how to fix
