By sexual reproduction of far off relatives. Because of genetics there can be mutations and then there is always such concepts as survival of the fittest and natural selection. For example, if a certain species of moths are generally white, but pollution causes them to stand out in the north because of this, those that have a gray colored mutation become the ones most likely to survive and the white ones die out, leaving the gray variation. This combines both survival of the fittest and natural selection.

What is variation among members of the same species called?

Intraspecific variation

How are animals of the same kind different?

All animals adapt to their living conditions, which causes them to mutate and therefore look different, even those of the same species

What causes genetic variation in a species?

genetic variation happens because of meiosis. chromosomes are randomly in each sperm/egg cell, and so when they come together it's unlikely to get the same combination twice

What is interspecific and intraspecific cooperation?

Interspecific cooperation refers to help or assistance of individuals belonging to different species (a case of this is mutualism), whereas intraspecific cooperation is observed between individuals within the same species

Do you have a diagram of a mussel?

There are many many species of mussels but their anatomy is pretty much the same with some variation that distinguishes them as species.

What is the difference between individuals of the same species?

They have different genotype and phenotype i.e. they have genes in different manners in according to recessive or dominant which make variations in their characters

Does variation within the same species exist?

Of course, variation exists within individuals of the same species. This is because there are a small minority of genes which have multiple alleles in most species. In cases where a subset of the population is isolated from the rest of the population, a subspecies may develop which has particular unique characteristics but can still interbreed with the rest of the species.

Differences between organisms of the same species are known as?

Homologous structures. ps go to who's the cutest.com and click on the pie button

How does variation allow some animals to survive better than others?

The animals with the abilities that will help them to survive better than those without the same abilities will likely survive longer and will not be killed by predators. Those animals will live on and give their children the same abilities to survive, helping the species to adapt to a hostile environment.

Can two animals in the same genus be in the same species?

Yes. Species are listed under genera.

What is the definition for variation?
