It is probably muscle gain rather than fat. However, in some cases it is because the person begins to eat more because they feel they can as they have done exercise, but this is not neccessarily the case

I have just started walking a mile and half everyday, I am also dieting. I keep getting conflicting information that I will probably gain weight in the beginning, is this true? Sincerely, Ola
I suggest getting a weight belt that weight can be added to. I started out with 10 pounds and am still at that weight even after 20 years. When I added weight, my knees started hurting. So, I went back to 10 pounds and walk more rigorously. Your joints will let you know when to stop adding weight.
in one of his video with butch harmon, he talks about how much weight he has gained through out his career, and he said when he first started playing as pro, he weighed 158 lbs, but, he started weight training and now he weighs around 180 to 185 lbs.

I love artichokes, but have never heard of them for weight loss. The best way to lose weight is to decrease or eliminate something from your diet, like soda, coffee, or sweets; and start walking. Walking is free!! I'm in my process of losing weight and have lost 2 pant sizes now...feels great! I started walking and eliminated coffee and soda and started supplements along with little change to my diet. No he isnt When he got depressed in 2006-2007 around that time he became over weight so he started doing loads of running and lost all the weight he gained he is Muscly now though.
