The M1A was a military rifle (carbine type .30 caliber) used by the United States Military during WW2 and the Korean War. It is a semi automatic , 5 shot rifle with a bayonet clip.
The weapon is fed by a 5 shot "clip" not magazine. The "clip" would be pushed into the open breech and the 5 rounds set into the "tank" 1 round for each trigger pull. I do not know what changes are required except it is semi auto.
The springfield model m1A began production in 1991,with a serial number that low I believe it was made in 1991-1992.
Can you shoot 762•51 in a m1a springfield

The receivers for the new Springfield Armory M1 rifles are engraved, Made in Austrialia. I believe they are investment castings. The barrels are SA barrels made by Springfield Armory,Genesco,IL. The rest of the metal is WW2 and post WW2 from original production runs by SA,Springfield Ma, Winchester, H&R, and other USGI manufacturers. I dont know where the M1A receivers are made.
How much is a 1962 national match m1a 308 cal springfield armory rifle worth?
The Springfield Armory M1A rifle is the commercial variant of the military M14 rifle, chambered in 7.62x51 NATO. this is essentially the same as the .308 WIN chambering of the commercial M1A.
Need to know the model and serial range for a real answer. Also, Springfield Armory made some early Bush length rifles and called them "M1A-A1." There are no "M1A1" M14 clones. I think you just mean M1A. Depending on what you've got, the used value could be quite a range.
You will need to call the factory to find out.

The receiver was made in 1917. The barrel also has a date stamp. Additional info can be found at http://vishooter.home.att.net/m1903.HTML
Depends on your state. Some states allow hunting with semi auto rifles, and some don't.
