The Scarecrow is the person who thinks that everything is clever in "The Wizard of Oz."

Specifically, the Scarecrow has low self-esteem and therefore makes self-deprecating assumptions. For example, he himself is quite clever and thoughtful. But he tends to think that he cannot be so since he lacks a human brain.
