There are a multitude of evolutionary effects that aid reptiles in survival on land. Their scaly skin, for starters, help them in living day to day in such harsh conditions, [blasting sand in the desert, murky waters in the forest, etc.] Fur is too tedious to maintain, and can fester bugs, mites, fleas and can harbor many skin problems, including fungi and diseases. Their razor sharp teeth fuel their carnivorous needs, helping to rip apart their food and crush enough to be digested, [The bronchiosaurus used to swallow rocks after it ate to help crush and digest it's food thoroughly, due to it's flat teeth] Their cold-blooded system helps conserve energy. As humans, our body expends grandiose amounts of energy in order to keep up warm to maintain our bodliy functions. By being cold-blooded, reptiles can conserve that energy for other things, and the energy needs to be used extremely efficiently due to scarcity in some places like the desert. These are just a few of the characteristics that aid reptiles in survival!
The most important characteristics is that they have thick skin and lays amniotic eggs.
Hard shelled or leathery eggs that can incubate/hatch outside of water, allowing them to migrate dry areas. Skin that prevents transpiration, allowing them to live on land without dehydrating. These would be primary...the third could be any of a number of adaptations, changes in locomotion, eye sight et cetera
The amniotic egg allows reptiles to reproduce on land, away from water.
Shells prevent their eggs from drying out. Scales prevent water loss and protect them. The circulatory systems is associated with lungs for breathing air. Internal fertilization allows for reproduction on land.
A reptile is a vertebrate with a backbone and skeleton. It is cold-blooded so it depends on warm temperatures to keep warm. Some will hibernate in winter. It lays leathery eggs on land and the babies look like small versions of the adults. A reptile has lungs to breathe with. Alligators and turtles are reptiles.
These are five characteristics of reptiles (I know you asked for four) 1. They are ectothermic vertebrates 2. Their skin has scales, but no hair or feathers 3. They have three-chambered hearts (except for alligators and crocodiles which have four-chambered hearts) 4. They have claws on their toes (except those who do not have legs, such as legless lizards) 5. They are the first animals, in evolution, to develop the amniotic egg. This allows reptiles to lay eggs on land. Vocabulary: ectothermic: Having a variable body temperature which closely matches that of the surroundings. "Cold-blooded".
the reptiles are invertebrates...they are successful land dwellers.they have scales on the skin, the most common examples r crocodile, snake n lizard

Ability to breathe air.

Some of the characteristics of Union General Henry Halleck was that he was a land developer and a successful lawyer.
Some reptiles lay egg in the nest and some reptiles lay egg on the land.
they can travel over land because they do not need to lay eggs in water
The reptiles ancestors
No. Reptiles commonly reporduce on land.
they are reptiles, reptiles can survive both water and land.
That depends on the animal and the environment. Each animal has its own set of characteristics which suit it to its environment. For example, a dolphin has certain characteristics which make it well suited to live in the ocean, rather than on land. Similarly, a gorilla has certain characteristics which make it well suited to live on land rather than in the sea.
