Nicholas Thomas was an endearingly naughty kitten and the the hero of some half dozen Children's Books written by Kitty Styles and published by Samson Low Ltd between 1948 and 1954. The books were illustrated by Mary Kendal Lee. Nicholas wore a school cap, and his mother Mrs Tilly Thomas a flowery bonnet. His father wore a top hat or smoking cap -- remarkably anachronistic as well as anthropomorphic. The stories were broadcast on the BBC's Children's Hour. There is a longer description of the titles (by me) in Story Paper Collectors' Digest, Vol48, No 574., October 1994.
