San Antonio. Also known as the Paseo del Rio, is a 2.5 mile-long series of walkways on the San Antonio River, beneath the streets of San Antonio, Texas. It is a major tourist attraction lined with bars, shops and restaurants. Construction began in 1938 as part of the "San Antonio River Beautification Project" after the disastrous flood of 1921.
