King Solomon's Temple (also called the First Temple) was built in Jerusalem in 960 BCE. It was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE. The Second Temple stood from 516 BCE to 70 CE when it was destroyed by the Romans.

Well, as long as it existed, it was in Jerusalem, Israel. But the Greeks felt that as long as

the Jews had a temple, it would probaby distract them from their appreciation of physical

beauty. So in order to help the Jews focus their attention on the more beautiful things

in life, the Greeks burned, smashed, defiled, and destroyed Solomon's Temple, almost

2,600 years ago.

In the same spot that the later (Second) Temple would stand, which was on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem's Old City. The Temple Mount is still there. (Its coordinates are about 31.8 north Latitude and 35.2 east Longitude.)See also:
