"Best" is a subjective term. Much depends on whether you want to make your trip completely within Canada, or whether you want to go through the US. If you stay within Canada, the Trans-Canada Highway will take you within two hours of Toronto and you can follow the road signs for the rest of the trip. If you go through the US, head south across the border and pick up I-94, which will take you through Detroit to Port Huron. If you want to avoid Detroit, switch to I-69 just past Battle Creek and go to Port Huron. If you cross at Detroit to Windsor, Highway 401 will take you to Toronto. If you cross at Port Huron to Sarnia, Highway 402 will connect you with Highway 401 at London, and continue to Toronto. If you can't follow these instructions, get to Toronto by Air Canada instead of driving. In any event, driving will take much longer and cost you more than flying.
