The logical place to select would be Albuquerque, New Mexico. It has a wide variety of accommodations to select from in every price range and numerous places to choose for dining. It is not a precise halfway point however because the Denver to Phoenix route recommended by MapQuest gives the distance between those two points as 913 miles and the road distance from Albuquerque to Denver is only 450 miles.

Lincoln, Nebraska would be a good half-way stopping point on your 914 mile trip.

A small city called Seward, Nebraska is half way between the two.
