The Avilon Zoological park is in the valley of Barrio San Isidro, Rodriquez (formerly Montalban), Rizal, Philippines. It was started by Jake Gaw as a weekend home for and place to keep his "pets" in 1992. Then in 1995, the seed took root and serious work started on building the Zoo. The Zoo has various departments with it's own respective curator, vet., super. and keepers. These Departments are: Herpetology, Arachnology, Ichthyology, Ornithology, Mammalogy, Wildlife Nursery, Rearing Dept., Vet., Med., Quarantine Dept., Laboratory of Med., Leisure & Recreation, Animal Nutrition Dept.
