Animal Furs

Answer:

Cherokee men wore a sort of leather diaper with leggings in the summer, while the women wore dresses made from deerskin or a cloth made from animal hair. In later times the men wore a wrapped turban on their head, and adopted the ribbon shirt. Cherokee men wore chaps and breech cloths in the summer, usually along with a leather shirt, while the women wore dresses made from deerskin or a cloth made from animal hair.

In winter time, they would wear animal furs.

In later times, those in the Western tribe adopted the ribbon shirt.

The Cherokee Indians wore clothing that was made from animal skins. Buckskin (deer hide) was a popular material for making breeches, dresses, and moccasins. They also made clothing items from the buffalo hides for warmth in winter.

In the Cherokee Tribe, during summer, the men would wear shorts and long shirts while Cherokee women wore skirts down just below their knees. When they were working hard, they didn’t wear much clothing, just shorts for men and miniskirts for women, somewhat what they wore in summertime. In winter, they wore fur cloaks and long capes tied around them to keep warm. The children there generally went barefoot or wore moccasins in cold weather. Many Cherokee men would wear tall rawhide boots, up above their knees, to protect their feet and legs from thorn bushes when they were hunting. Women just wore low moccasins on their feet, because they didn’t go into the forest so much.
