Very few outside of a Community College [2 year degree program]. With that D- grade average, it's not a pretty sight - but within the 2 years in community college, you can bring those grades up if you apply yourself.

Doubtful any 4 year institution would accept you with that low of a grade.

None duuhhhhh None as far as I know. Have you evaluated your motivation for attending college? What kept you from doing better in high school? How can someone graduate with that GPA? Have you considered a GED or trade school? You would have to have a really good reason for not acquiring the miminum GPA. If you do get admitted to a college, it may it may be conditional. Usually, being admitted conditionally means that you would have to maintain a minimum GPA for a certain period of time in order to be fully admitted. There are many historically black colleges that require a minimum GPA of 2.0 and they may be more lenient in regards to your situation. HBCUs have a history of helping students who are disadvantaged. Black colleges can give you a quality education. Also, consider community colleges in you state. Some times they give entrance test for students without proper credentials. If you are an open-minded and hard-working student, there is no reason that you should not attain a college degree. Be reasonable about your situation, flexible in your choices and hungry to learn. This attitude will not only help you select a suitable college, it will make life a be easier overall.

If the GPA is from high school, a 1.8 GPA would not be passing and would indicate they did not earn a high school diploma. Some community colleges will accept students that have a cumulative score that low from other colleges.

That GPA is a low C or a D+ so the best you can do is a community college. I would suggest if you have time you get to work to bring that up. Work on your skills and prep for the the admission tests as well as SAT and ACT.
