Yes there are. There are also at least 3 schools that have job placement. Be very careful in selecting a school as there are many that will tell you they have job placement when in reality they give you only a diploma and a list of companies that might hire you. I like this forum because all the answers I have are on my bio page and I don't have to re-type it every time. I'm new here so I hope I'm doing this right.

One thing that you should know with schools and providers giving internships is the fact that they only choose students or trainees with good grades or good performance during the training. What you can do is do your best while you are training so you can be chosen as one of the interns.
Most online employers of medical transcriptionists want at least two years experience. However, some will hire "newbies". Jobs can be found by applying online.

There are several online schools that you can take a medical transcription course from. The main one is probably the University of Phoenix, they are accredited. Many colleges offer an online medical transcription course. Some of them include Kaplan university, ITT technical university, Meditec and DeVry University studies. The good news is that you would only need an internet connection and a good pc to get your very own medical transcription training as there are now a lot of approved providers of medical transcription training online. Now, if you are going to need a teacher-student interaction (some people focuses better in a classroom), you can look for companies that are offering MT services and they probably give you a good MT training if they hire you. I don't really know a lot of universities or schools offering this course off line.
