It depends how you mix them.

As above mixing white and black paint (or similar) gives grey.

However, if you paint black and white areas on disk and spin it (effectively mixing the colors together in your eyes) you can get many different colors.

This illusion is called a Benham disk. No one is completely sure why it works, Some think flashing white and black at the retinas upsets its smooth working and it interprets this as color. Others think some rods and cones in the eye (the sensing cells) are activated at different speeds and the flashing gives odd readings for the brain to interpret.

Aside: Many years back black and white TV stations tried to use this effect to convert their programming to colored TV by flashing the images on the screen at esrtain frequencies.
