Who overrides a veto and does that branch of govement exert some control over another branch rnment exts?
The Executive Branch, specifically the President, can veto a
piece of legislation from Congress. It can, however, be passed over
his veto with a 2/3 majority in both the House and the Senate, like
the War Powers bill being passed over Richard Nixon's veto. Having
this power makes this branch able to discourage bills the President
doesn't like, and gives him some power over Congress.
