The IAT sensor in your 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck, 5.3 liter engine has three wires. The positive wire is red. The ground wire is black. The auxiliary wire is white.
Please help me with all these wires and pretty colors.
It is located in the data link connector. There are three black wires. It is the bigger of the three black wires.

It should be located in the air in take tube after the air filter and before the mass air flow sensor.
That engine has 2 of them and there both are underneith the intake manifold. You can not see are get to them until you remove the intake.

The intake air temp. sensor or IAT is part of the mass airflow (MAF) sensor. If you remove the MAF sensor, you can see a 3-4 mm ball on the end of 2 wires. That is the IAT sensor. On a 2000 tundra it is the yellow/green and green/white wires. which on a wiring schematic is the tha and e2 terminal. hope that helps
