Anything that is blue is absorbing all the colors except blue.

The blue light is reflected to your eye and you see the object as being blue.

How do you see colours in white light?

White light contains the many colors you see. The illuminated object will absorb and reflect the light as its' materials see fit. A black object will absorb all colors. A white object reflects all colors. Everything else lies in between there somewhere.

Why do darker colors absorb the most heat?

White light is a mixture of colors. When white light strikes a dark object little or no energy is reflected. When white light strikes a white object the energy is mostly reflected, not absorbed.Miissmeg.

Are the colors of light that objects absorb the colors you see?

No, the colors you see are the colors that are reflected by the object. White light is composed of several different wavelengths of energy, these different energies correspond to different visible colors. When an object absorbs the light, it absorbs its energy, the rest of the energy is reflected from the surface. That energy is what you see in the form of photons (light). So, if an object looks blue to you, that object is absorbing red light.

Why does the color black absorb light and the color white doesn't?

Light itself is made up of all the colors, and so an object that appears black will absorb all the colors, while white will reflect all the colors. This is also why white cars left in the sun are cooler than black cars that are left in the sun. The reason black absorbs light is due to the nature of what light is comprised of. The color black will absorb little "packets" of light called photons.

What colors of light are reflected by a white object?

A white object reflects all the colors making up white light. Therefore the reflected color will still be white.

Why does the color white occur?

There are two ways that the color white occurs, as light and as the color of an object. When you see white light it is a combination of many colors of light, because white light is a combination of all light. When you see a white object, that object is reflecting all of the colors of light back at you, because that surface doesn't absorb any of the colors of light.

If you absorb all the colors what color would you get?

If an object absorbs all the colors in white light, it reflects black.

What colors do white objects absorb?

White is the resultant of all colors being reflected. White objects of course absorb some light but due reflect all the colors of the rainbow as we see them.

Do darker colours absorb light?

yes dark colors like black absorb more light and radiation than light colors and white. black absorbs all visible light and white reflects back all visible light

What colors absorb the most light and which colors reflect the most light?

Black absorbs the most light and white reflects the most.

Is light reflected?

Light is an energy force which has weight. Light particles rebound back to the eye because every object has a reflective surface. Perhaps we could ask the question "Why do we see things in different colors?" Light is white in color. This white light is in actual fact a combination of all the colors of the spectrum. When light strikes an object the object will absorb some of the colors but reject others. The combination of these rejected colors give us the color we see. A green cover book is so because the colors blue and yellow were not absorbed by the material of the book cover. Some say that because some objects absorb all colors the object is seen as black, or the absence of color. So why do we still see black objects? Because even a black object has a reflective surface.
