It was actually really light red-colored since she was born, to probably about when she was about 27 or 28. It then became really dark red curly hair that she held up with a couple of pins. This is true, she was quite literally bald when she got old. It was mainly because of her makeup, but now we're off-topic. She used wigs that were a little darker than her normal hair color, but then again she died bald.
In some pictures her hair is depicted as blonde. While in other pictures her hair is brown. In photographs the pictures are in black and white so her hair looks grey.
