PC - post-primum contactum, latin phrase meaning "after first contact". The most widely-accepted theory is that a major event in humanity's existence would have to occur in order to consider a new calendar-age. Since BC and AD are used to denote the most recent of these major events - the birth and death (respectively) of Jesus of Nazareth - the only plausible event that would both disprove modern Christianity and affect all humans on a global scale would undeniably be official "first contact" with members of an Alien species.

Since first contact has not yet "officially" occurred - although millions of people around the world claim to have witnessed other-worldly encounters, such as spotting UFOs or being abducted by extraterrestrials - this is only speculative at best. However, it is the most likely candidate for the upheaval of thousands of years of religious and social tradition, since an event that was witnessed (or at least experienced, known) on a world-wide scale would affect all of humankind.
