A D service on a 2004 is just pretty much either a A or B service. Mercedes decided to add all these extra services on the new 2003 e-class, all it really did was cause confunsion. There are differant services for just the a/c filter, and lubing the sunroof. So just stick to A and B services and everything will get performed normally.

To reset the service D message on a 2004 Mercedes E-320, turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal three times within 10 seconds. After doing this, turn the ignition off and then back on to check if the service light has reset. If it hasn’t, repeat the steps.

Trade the car in for a Nissan.
about 2 1/2 gallons.
You will spend $550.00 at the MBZ dealer for the service "B" which is basically and oil and filter, air filter and cabin filter change and some basic inspections. They will also rest the service reminder which can also be done by you once you figure it out.
You would have to have service B performed by a authorized Mercedes Benz technician. There is a special laptop they hook up to the cars after these services are performed in order to get rid of that message on your dash. On the CLK 320 Cabrolet you have to perform a series of actions on your dash i.e. reset button etc. to reset the service reminder. There is no plug in for a Mercedes techniciam to reset the reminder.
as per mercedes benz trans oil is lifetime fill this might haved changed but from what i was told its lifetime oil fill
