UT Tower
UT can stand for both, along with the University of Toledo and the University of Tulsa. If you were to abbreviate both of the teams, I would go with doing "TEX" for Texas and "TENN" for Tennessee to avoid confusion. UT seems to remind more people of Texas, but Tennessee's athletics website is UTSports.com. I'm not sure which "UT" abbreviation or logo came first, but for logo purposes, Tennessee has steered away from "UT" and is using their "Power T", as Texas still uses its "UT" as an alternate logo. Both are different, but some Supreme Court case was made about it, and now Tennessee has permission to brand their "UT" east of the Mississippi River and Texas has permission to brand theirs west of the Mississippi. In summary, it's up to you. There's still debate on it today.
The official colors of the University of Texas Pan American are Green and White, with the additional color of UT orange to symbolize its union with the UT system.

The whole University of Texas Tower gets lit up in orange when any UT sports team wins a national championship. Office lights in the tower are also lit to form a number one on all four sides as well.

Several UT students wanted to support the UT baseball team before their game with Southwestern University. The students needed some ribbons, so they went to the nearest store and bought the two ribbon colors available - orange and white. Several publications then began using orange and white as UT's colors, although the official colors were disputed until they were finally settled in a campus wide vote in 1900. Orange and white won by beating runner up orange and maroon as well as a handful of other color mixtures. There was still controversy as to what shade of orange would be used. In 1949, a bright orange color was officially chosen, and was used in the seal 8 years later. When football coach Darrel K. Royal arrived in 1962, he switched the player uniforms to a darker, "burnt" orange color. When people started referring to this darker orange as the correct color, alumni complained and an investigation ensued. The findings of this investigation stated that the darker orange had been used longer than any other hue and was widely known as "Texas Orange", and this became the prevalent color ever since.
