Hi. Im currently going through a similar situation. I fell down a flight of stairs after a team of decorators removed wallpaper from the hall stairs and landing. I was unaware of this as I was plaster patching in another room. Only when I came through the door did i notice all the mess. I waded through the wet paper but slipped and fell to the bottom. My case is still going through and my company have yet to either admit or deny liability. I ended up having a cartilage operation where most of the cartilage was removed, I now suffer badly and cannot return as a plasterer again. I ain't worked for almost twelve months.

I friend of a friend was in a similar position 5 years ago, he had similar ops and received over one hundred thousand pounds compensation, this included his medical fees and time off work. In addition he also was awarded four years compensation pay because he was also unable to work again.

Hope this answers a few doubts
