Rain water sinking into limestone bedrock will slowly dissolve the limestone and, over many centuries, form potholes and caverns. In time, the cavern's ceiling will become too thin to support the ground above. A sink hole will appear when the cavern's roof collaspes.
Use dynamite to blow it up. If there's water down there it should start to rise&&fill up the sink hole.

The sink hole in Guatemala was measured at 200ft deep when it sucked in a three 3 story house they have no scientific explanation yet about how the sinkhole was really created and where it leads to!
