Why is there an inch between the throw out bearing and clutch and wont go in gear after replacing clutch on a 2004 mustang?
I'm going to bet that you didn't line up the plate with a dummy shaft and the pilot shaft is hitting the pilot bearing. That would keep the bell housing from bolting up to the engine and give you about an inch of gap. If you used the old trick of popping the pilot bearing with grease and a drift, and you left the grease in the pilot bearing hole, that would prevent the pilot shaft from seating deep enough.

If you are asking how to get the pilot bearing out, then here it is. This works real well and it's clean. You will need a round piece of still that will fit inside of the pilot bearing, A snug fit. something like a long bolt are a round punch that is flat on the end and fits tight in the pilot bearing. Now when you get that, take some bread and push it in the bearing until it won't hold anymore. Then take your bolt or punch and a hammer and drive it in the pilot bearing until it won't go anyfurther, remove the bolt and put more bread in it until it's full, Then put bolt back in and drive it with a hammer again. Each time you fill it with bread and drive the bolt in with a hammer it pushes the pilot bearing out. Keep putting bread in it and driving the bolt in with a hammer until the bearing falls out. You will have to keep doing it until the bearing falls out. TRUST ME IT WILL COME OUT. Some people use grease and it makes a mess, Bread works better. You will not hurt anything by hitting it with a hammer. I would like to know how it works for you. Leave me a message on my message board.

A bad rotor would not necessarily cause a bad vibration as it would most likely create a noise and wear your break pads down unevenly. It could be as simple as an unbalanced tire or a warped rim. Also if your tires are choppy then a vibration can become noticeable. Also a bad bearing or axle could cause vibration (however, it would be noticeable at a lower speed).
