Vauxhall as a place name is rather common.
It is generally accepted that is originated from a Mr Falkes de Breauté. (Deceased 1226)
Hence "Falkes Hall" (His house) which over time became Vauxhall.
Perhaps there were others sharing the same first name, who also had houses, or "halls".
Alexander Wilson founded the Vauxhall Motor company in the Dusian Road, Vauxhall, London in 1857. So the name of the company came from the name of a place.
So it seems quite likely that the names are linked, however tenuously.
