The types of considerations you need to make will vary, depending on your budget for starting out. Since you are asking that question here, you probably have a limited budget. If you have under $500USD, then you might as well work out of your home. For you, that is YOUR ideal place. If you have $1,000,000USD, then you're wasting your time. There is NO SUCH THING as an ideal place. There are merely alternatives, some worse in some categories, and some better in some categories. Each type of industry has different requirements. If you are making jet engines, you need to be in a place where you can build noisy equipment. This means no residential neighborhoods, and probably no retail commercial areas either. If you are making fireworks, you need to be someplace that has fireproof buildings. if you are making furniture, then any barn or warehouse will be suitable, as you will have to import all your raw materials anyway. If this is to answer a question on your school test, then your "ideal location" is where you minimize your labor costs, minimize your production costs, minimize your materials shipping cost, and maximize your sales revenue. If you are simply a sincere, but ignorant business person, then locate as near to your customers as practical, but far enough away so as to not bother them by the noise, pollution, and traffic that you generate while producing what you sell to them. If your product involves a large amount of labor to produce, then locate in China where your labor costs are the cheapest. You'll pay a fortune in shipping, but your labor cost savings will make up for it. If you are making web sites or software applications, anywhere in the world where you can get access to the World Wide Web is perfectly acceptable. There are over 50,000 different considerations possible. If there was only one answer to this question, there wouldn't be millions of different industral locations around the world. Since there ARE millions of locations, the answer must be different for everybody.
