We are not yet sure what the universe might look like from outside, assuming that the concept of "outside the universe" makes any sense. I feel confident in saying, however, that it would not look like an expanding balloon.Our senses are capable of sensing three physical dimensions; there are some mathematical theories that suggest that the universe has more than three dimensions, things that we cannot yet imagine.
