Does it stall when first started or ONLY once the car has warmed up ? After it stalls will it start right up again ? or does the car need to cool down before it will restart ?
If it's hesitant/stalling on acceleration and stalling on slow down or stops, then could possibly be the fuel filter.
there could be a few things to look at first , is the check engine light on? if so then you want to get a shop or auto zone to run a computer diag on it you will probably find either a mass airflow meter or the idle air control is bad you can mail me @ tajohn4u@aol.com for further info
have you checked the timming?
It could be a problem in the air mass or the fuel pump
Your Baja Doodlebug is not getting the proper amount of gas if it is stalling out. This could be due to a problem with your fuel lines, fuel pump, or fuel intakes.
The ac could be causing the problem. Turn the ac off, and watch the compressor clutch to see if it is not engaged. If it is then the compressor or clutch could be bogging the engine down.
Could be in need of a tune up with spark plugs, spark plug wires, air and fuel filters.
i'll give you several answers . you could have water in your gas, you may need to replace your air filter, fuel filter, you may have a bad spark plug or spark plug wires, your timing could be off. i I have a 1998 Taurus and I had a stalling problem - took to shop and for about $27 he changed my hoses that was my problem, hole in hose and cracks from age of hoses.
Possibly. That was the problem with my 2003 4.0.
You could have a short from the controlls to the fan
A dropping fuel gauge and subsequent stalling in a 1999 Pontiac Montana could be caused by a few issues. The most common reason is a failing fuel pump, which may not be delivering adequate fuel to the engine. Additionally, a clogged fuel filter or a faulty fuel gauge sensor could lead to incorrect readings and fuel delivery problems. Finally, issues with the electrical system, such as a bad connection or corroded wiring, could also contribute to the stalling.
If a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am shuts off while in drive, there could be a problem with the passlock sensor. There could also be an issue with the fuel pump.
