If it's an automatic, the fluid level may be the culprit. If the level gets very low, reverse is often the only gear that works. Check level and top off. Hopefully there is no major damage done to the transmission due to lack of fluid. Chris I would say that when you check the the fluid, see if it smell like wet burnt toast. if it does, you might want to drop the pan and see what gear are in it [sorry transmission humor]... if it is low, add fluid and hope... but chances are you probably launched the forward clutches. good luck Anesi
The reverse lights are not adjustable.
The 2002 Dodge Ram reverse light relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The reverse light relay switch will be on the left-hand side of the brake pedal.

The backup light switch is mounted on the transmission casing.
passenger side of the tranny on mine there are two switches, the forward one is the reverse switch the other one is the speed sensor
