High-protein diets are damaging on the kidneys because the body must process a lot of extra nitrogen.
The kidneys are filters for the urine so if there is pain in the kidneys it could be a kidney infection, kidney stones, or kidney disease or a kidney injury.

Creatinine is usually filtered out of the blood by the kidneys. A high creatinine level can mean your kidneys are not functioning properly and you should seek a doctors advice. Treatment will depend on what is wrong with the kidneys.
if the pain is in the exact same spot on both sides there may be something wrong with your kidneys. but it could also be a muscle pain. consult your doctor and they can test to see how your kedneys are funtioning
