Bad starter, bad starter solenoid, or the problem might not be the starter at all.
wrong key when using the remote starter the starter does't crank long enough to start the car. Starting the car with the key the car starts five. Could use some help.
it could be the starter motor getting lazy
Bad starter, bad flywheel/ring gear, bad starter/flywheel alignment.
It could be many things. Go get your car checked.
It is self destructing. Replace the starter.
Could be a number of reasons.. bad battery, bad starter, bad fuse to the starter.. those are some of the main culprits.
This sounds like your battery.
Depends on what's wrong with the starter, exactly. It could be whirring sound, a clicking sound, no sound at all, etc.
no, the starter is only for starting the engine.
If there is nothing wrong with the engine internally, then ,the starter is pulling. Have to replace it. You could always pull out the plugs and spin the engine and see how that does. The starter on the 4.6 is hard to get the 3rd bolt out. But, it does come out.
Sounds as if the starter bendix is staying engaged in the fly wheel. Possible wrong starter or starter needs shimmed down out of the fly wheel .
Check and make sure that you did not swap the negative and positive on the starter. The starter is the only part on you car that does not have fuse protection and will cause a backfeed of current when starting and could cause any number of things to go wrong with your fuse system.
