You said you checked the spark, I assume it had spark, So I will go from there, If it had been running and stalled but still appears to have all the required things to run (compression, fire, air, fuel) then it must be getting ONE of them at the wrong time, sinse fuel will hang around for A while and air will have to be there for compression, Then that prety much leaves only one thing, The fire, I would guess that your car has jumped time on the timing chain/belt,,,,, NOTE, A v-8 (or more) engine will run when it is out of time by one tooth, But, most 6 cylinder or less engines have great difficulty hitting at all when they are out of time on the cam/crank,,,,, This is due to the increased separation between cylinders, The lower number of cylinders you have the more separation. , Jamison.,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Keep in mind that there could be other problems with the car, It is very difficult to say why an engine is not starting, especially when you have never seen or heard it.
Maybe a vacuum line?
To put it in reverse with out it stalling but most of the time they don't work
only thing i know that will make brkes grind, is worn out brakesmaybe have em checked at a different mechanic
To change the reverse lights on a Pontiac Sunfire you need to locate it on the left side of the transaxle. Then, unplug the electric connector and remove the switch along with the socket.
have you checked the bulbs and fuses
have the reverse safety switch checked if this is not working it will stop reverse being engaged this is done so as not to engage reverse by mistake
As strange as it may sound, If your battery is old and getting weak, it can cause that stalling problem with the Dakotas. Your IAC may also need to be cleaned/replaced. Good luck ........
Have you had your u-joints checked?
have your motor mounts checked one is broken
get the universal joints checked on your driveshaft.
have the u-joints checked on the driveshaft.
If your Pontiac runs a 700r4 gm transmission you have stripped a reverse input shell. The transmission needs to come out for repair.
