An air intake house can be the cause of wind noise underneath a 208 Mazda 6. The problem could also be a bad seal on either your window or door gasket.

Answer: If faulty, yes, the air flow meter (AFM) can cause starting problems. Or if there's something as simple as a break in the air intake hose connected to the air flow meter or a poor/corroded connection to the AFM - those could also cause starting difficulties. Other possibilities with the 1992 Mazda B2200 Pickups are the ignition switch, the starter, and finally, the actual ECU (computer).
