It's probably the dash power supply located inside the panels housing , these are avalible from several places on the web , you will need some soldering skills to replace it.

it's actually fairly easy. there are screws where the speedometer is and under the dash. remove them and the front part of the dash just drops. now the kit for aftermarket installations is hard to find for a 2001. the kit i used was for a 2000 intrepid. fits perfectly.
