Bad ignition coil? Bad fuel pump?
as to fuel, probably a pump or filter as to fire, could be the coil or distributer cap
A blocked fuel filter could cause the engine to lose power on a 92 Honda Civic DX. Fuel injectors that need changing or cleaning could also be the cause.
check the fuse?
A malfunctioning coil pack can cause your 2001 Pontiac Grand Am to backfire. The more likely cause is a faulty fuel injector.
Does it turn over? Check for fuel and spark--could be bad fuel pump or bad ignition coil
could be your igniion coil. It is located inside of the distributor cap. If you havent gave your car a tune up recently, it could be your spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap or the rotor inside of the distributor. And if all these things are ok, make sure the engine is getting fuel. If not, it could be a clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump could be messed up. The fuel injectors could be clogged also
There are several things that can cause your 1992 Honda Accord to start and then die out. The most common cause is an inconsistent flow of fuel. This can be caused by a dirty fuel filter.
likely cause is unburnt excess fuel. now need to look for the cause why the fuel is not being ignited or not ignited properly or why the fuel air mixture is so rich. could be a bad spark plug, wires, coil, bad fuel injector. etc.
When an ignition coil goes bad the car will not run right, or not at all. An intermittent coil will cause shudder, or a jerking motion. When the coil has no output then the cylinder that the coil feeds cant burn the fuel and cause power.
It could be a number of things, like a Map Sensor, your Throttle Posiitioning Senser, bad coil pack/pick up coil, fuel pump, fuel filter, dirty injectors. I would take it to a mechanic, theres so much that could cause the problem.
One reason a 1995 Honda Civic might sputter and cough while accelerating during normal driving is because of a bad coil. Another reason could be a bad fuel pump or fuel filter. Still another reason could be a bad oxygen sensor.
