Most of South Africa is in the Temperate Zone. A small part, in the North, lies north of the Tropic of Capricorn and is thus in the Tropical Zone.

Auckland, on the North Island of New Zealand, lies in the temperate zone.

These countries are all between 23.5 degrees North (Tropics of Cancer) to 66.5 degrees North (Arctic Circle) and 23.5 degrees South (Tropics of Capricorn) to 66.5 degrees South (Antarctic Circle). So, in short, countries like Australia, USA, France, China and New Zealand all lie in the temperate zone. Most (not all) countries within the temperate zone experiences the 4 seasons.
ALL of the US lies in the North Temperate Zone, EXCEPT:-- the State of Hawaii is in the Tropic Zone-- a small northern strip of the State of Alaska is in the North Polar Zone.
