The superpowers so close to end the war
The most significant change post-WWII was the shifting of powers. Before the war started out there numerous countries which were very close to being equally powered by means of military, economics, and politics. Those countries consisted of England, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, America, and the U.S.S.R. Once the war was over these powers had shifted immensely because there were no longer 7-8 equal powers, there were only two superpowers, America and The Soviet Union. This was the first time in history where there were only two evident superpowers world wide. This provoked the Cold War and near destroyed every person on the planet. Very tense and somewhat .. cold. Countries distrusted each other as alliances between either the U.S. or USSR were formed by many nations, some opting to get the best of both superpowers. Politics operated with a looming threat of nuclear war which came close several times. The superpowers avoided direct confrontation with each other but that didn't prevent allied countries of one superpower from fighting those of another.
Because it's easier just going to a closer country than going around the world to a far away countries
There were more than two countries at the close of WW2. However, if you are refering to Germany, it was partitioned into East and West Germany.
India and China are close to Nepal.
No, it depends on where the country is around the world and how close it is to tectonic plates. Richer countries may suffer though because of all the buildings and the economy.
