Most people that came to America didn't come on any particular boat. There have been millions of immigrants to the United States over the centuries, and no one boat accounts for "most" of those immigrants.
People come from different countries to participate in the Olympic Games. Many of these countries are on different continents, however the athletes represent their country not their continent.
Contrary to popular belief, the first people to come to Ireland are thought to have come from Spain by boat and were not Celts.
The media at the time referred to them as "boat people" since they arrived by ships and boats. "Ship People" just didn't come out right.
