When the Sovet Union broke apart, all its states became independant, so for example the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belerus, Estonia, Latvia, Lituania, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhastan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikstan. Those were the USSR satelite states. Also there is South Korea, Angola, Laos, Vietnam and also if you count China, although it is arguable that China is still communist.
